Presentation of the scoop Award 2025 to ZEIT Podcast "OK, America?"
The conference will be opened by Dr. Nina Klaß (nextMedia.Hamburg) and Dr. Carsten Brosda, Hamburg's Senator for Culture and Media. This will be followed by the presentation of the "scoop Award", which this year goes to Rieke Havertz (DIE ZEIT) and Klaus Brinkbäumer (journalist) for their transatlantic podcast "OK, America?". In an interview with the award winners, Dr. Nina Klaß reflects on the role of international perspectives for German journalism and on strategies for how podcasts can contribute to branding and refinancing journalistic products.
Transformation and AI: strategies for the future
A key topic at scoopcamp 2025 is the use of artificial intelligence in journalism. The panel "Make, Buy or Cooperate - which strategy leads?" will shed light on how the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung, dpa, ORF and brand eins are setting up their AI strategy. Stephanie Schuricht (Bauer Media Group) will also analyze how reach and visibility are changing in the digital environment in her keynote "Google, AI & the great visibility shift" and Angelica Öhagen (Aftonbladet) will show how AI is transforming the newsroom in Sweden. In a top-class CEO panel, Stefan Buhr (Verlag Der Tagesspiegel), Stefan Ottlitz (SPIEGEL-Verlag), Sigrun Albert (Verlag Nürnberger Presse) and Charlotte Haunhorst (Handelsblatt Media Group) will discuss the major strategic shifts in the industry.
Paid content, podcasts and platform trends
The question of monetization will remain central in 2025: Steffen Horstmannshoff (DIE ZEIT), Charlotte Meyer-Hamme (SPIEGEL) and Johanna Leuschen (NDR), among others, will provide insights into the audio strategies of large publishing houses. Cornelia Fuchs and Johannes Vogel (stern) take stock after 300 days of stern+ and share learnings on Hamburg's latest paid offering.
Platforms are also in focus: Martin Fehrensen (Social Media Watchblog) gives an update on social media trends and Florian Harms (t-online) talks about the responsibility of quality journalism without a paywall.
Young target groups, HR and local journalism
Vanessa Bitter (#UseTheNews), Svea Dethloff (ZEIT) and Carlotta Staat (Bauer Xcel Media) will discuss how media can appeal to young target groups. The "HR of the future" panel will shed light on how media companies can remain attractive to talent. In addition, Sven Oliver Clausen (RND), Cordula Schmitz (Hamburger Abendblatt) and Maik Koltermann (Hamburger Morgenpost) will discuss new strategies in local journalism.
Location & Networking at SPACE
As in the previous year, the scoopcamp will take place in the SPACE of the location initiative nextMedia.Hamburg - an innovation and community space for Hamburg's media and digital industry. In addition to the presentations and panels, the conference offers plenty of space for networking, exchange and in-depth discussions.
Tickets are available for 200 euros (plus taxes and fees) at www.scoopcamp.de.
