What’s it all about?
On April 18, we’ll be hosting the third edition of our hackathon for women. The format was recognized as a best practice by the EU project Connecting Women in Digital and brings together women interested in technology to grow together while tackling four exciting challenges.

We’re looking forward to a day full of good vibes, team spirit, and creative problem-solving. Beginners are just as welcome as experienced AI enthusiasts—because together, we complement each other best.

We invite you to expand your knowledge and discover new areas. Participation is free—but the sense of accomplishment when your code finally works after hours of tinkering is priceless.

Tracks

Robotics: Develop a delivery robot – “Robot, bring me a coffee!”
Who hasn’t wished at some point to sit at their desk and give commands to a robot? In this track, you’ll get a step closer to making that dream a reality. You’ll teach a robot to deliver objects to your seat, and in the process, you’ll learn how robots are programmed and how they use sensors to perceive their environment and navigate it.

Internet of Things: Smart Minihome
Have you always wanted to know how a smart home works? In this track, you’ll bring a mini-house to life with sensors, lights, and various gadgets—just like in a real smart home. Working in small teams, you’ll install, program, and control different components.
By the end of the session, you’ll have developed a sensor-controlled smart mini-home while gaining hands-on experience with and deepening your understanding of fundamental aspects of electronics and programming.

LOL, LLM – Prompting for Punchlines (ARIC)

Coding Curiosity: We’re Building a Perspective Shifter
We often develop solutions while unconsciously overlooking the needs of certain groups. In this Vibe Coding session, we’ll build the “Perspective Shifter” together. The idea is simple but effective: You enter a project or an idea (e.g., “A new app for the neighborhood”), and the tool lets fictional personas with different life realities have their say (e.g., a single mother, a senior citizen, or a person with a visual impairment). We look forward to seeing you there!

Registration for the hackathon will open four weeks before the event begins. If the hackathon is fully booked, a small additional quota will be available to employees of ARIC member companies.
