Further initiatives of the Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft

nextMedia.festival

The annual get-together, where we look at current topics and get into conversation over music and drinks, panels, fireside chats and workshops.

It's complicated, so let's celebrate, talk and listen together

How can we stop the attention spiral? How do we deal with misinformation and loss of trust? What are the implications of AI for the media industry? What opportunities do decentralized platforms offer? How do we ensure that relevant and correct content is quickly recognized and seen in the future? How do I maintain a community? And while we're at it: What framework conditions are actually required for healthy growth?

There are questions upon questions in our industry and none of them are easy to answer. Reason enough for us not to despair and throw up our hands in despair, but to organize a festival. Let's talk about the most pressing questions and not lose heart in the process.

The nextMedia.festival offers the opportunity to pause and look at the challenges facing our industry in a positive atmosphere. Together with you, we will press the pause button, meet in the real world and take on new perspectives.

Cheers!

Clarity for product people

Clarity is one of the superpowers of successful product people. This masterclass is about why this is the case and how we can create clarity for ourselves and our environment at different levels. Among other things, we will shed light on how we give others clear direction, how we create situational clarity, how we clarify roles in collaboration and how we communicate clearly in all of this. We will try out some of the impulses in the masterclass - others can be implemented the next working day.

Buzz without burnout: the power of creator marketing

Success today is not a question of volume - but of genuine proximity. In a world where "always-on" is no longer enough, a paradigm shift is needed: brands need to think always-in. Become part of communities. But how can small and medium-sized brands that have neither huge budgets nor large marketing teams - and often no direct line to agencies - achieve this? In this impulse, we use specific practical examples to show how brands can make the most of the potential of creator marketing.

Community First: Between platform dependency and autonomy

If you want to shape the public sphere, you need to understand how communities are changing. They have long been much more than commentary columns - they are carriers of the digital public sphere. But their structures are in constant flux: What role do decentralized platforms and new governance models play? How do media makers position themselves between platform dependency and independence? A cross-platform outlook on the community economy of the coming years - and what it means for the media.

Stop it at last! How teams learn to let go of the right thing.

The media and creative industries are under massive pressure to change. But (almost) every team is overloaded. Instead of taking on more and more, we need to start quitting wisely. The impulse wants to change the way we think about quitting: Why do we find it so difficult to let go? How do we sort out the right things so that we have capacity for the important things? And how can teams be supported after the end of a project? With concrete tools and knowledge from change and grief counselling, it becomes clear why strategic quitting is a key leadership and team competence of the future. Because: It's time to finally quit.

tagesschau together - Interactive news in live, long and casual

How can news reach young people - where they are every day? With tagesschau together, ARD is venturing a journalistic experiment on the Twitch streaming platform. The format combines weekly news with direct community participation: Viewers vote live on topics, ask questions via chat and discuss with the hosts, ARD correspondents and established experts up close and at eye level. This is made possible by the creative use of interactive Twitch extensions that break up traditional news concepts. In the panel, Isabella David-Zagratzki (Deputy Head of Strategy and Innovation, tagesschau), Merve Kayikci (Project Manager, SWR X Lab) and Michael Petrescu (Managing Director Midflight, BEANS Entertainment GmbH) will provide insights into the development, technical implementation and editorial collaboration behind the innovative format.
